On a brisk, autumn morning in May, a handful of staff from EBS arrived at the RSPCA Victoria’s Burwood East Shelter. Their mission? To lend a helping hand to the abandoned, neglected, or sick animals that the RSPCA tirelessly cares for.

Morning Briefing

The day kicked off with the EBS team arriving ready and eager to make a difference. They were directed to their briefing room, where they were introduced to the RSPCA Victoria and given an insightful presentation about the organisation and the important work of the Inspectorate.

Small acts make a big difference

Following the introduction, we embarked on a team-building project, involving small groups working together in various areas such as the shelter, sorting donation items and creating packs for people that are ready to foster an animal.

Touring the RSPCA

After a morning of doing meaningful work that helps the organisation to run efficiently, we were taken on a guided tour of the shelter and the vet clinic. This gave us a deeper understanding of the day-to-day operations and the extensive care provided to the animals.

Hands-On Experience

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the hands-on experience with the animals. The our staff had the opportunity to interact directly with the animals in the barn, walk some of the dogs in care, provide companionship to cats in the shelter, and enjoy puppy cuddles. This experience was not only rewarding but also a stark reminder of the difference they were making in these animals’ lives.

It was great to be a part of the RSPCA Corporate Support Day, demonstrating our EPIC values and seeing first-hand the power of community, compassion, and collaboration. Our staff not only contributed to a noble cause but also strengthened their team spirit, making it a truly memorable day. Thank you to the staff and volunteers at the RSPCA for the worthwhile difference you make to the lives of animals in RSPCA Victoria’s care.
