Evolution Business Systems staff attended St Kilda Mums recently, for a full day of volunteering. St Kilda Mums is an organisation that recycles nursery equipment such as cots, prams, car seats and other baby essentials for families in need.
All items donated are sorted, quality and safety checked to ensure they meet the current Australian Safety Standards, then the preloved goods are sent for rehoming to families who might need them. The presentation of the goods is very important – we learned a key value at St Kilda Mums is to only rehome items that they would be comfortable receiving for their own children. This gives people who are facing a variety of challenges, with the hope that they feel uplifted when they receive a donation.
St Kilda Mums assist maternal child health nurses and social workers on behalf of families by providing them with these quality new or pre-loved donations.
While visiting St Kilda Mums the team at EBS spent the day making sure that all pre-loved items were cleaned, sorted, and packed so they can be delivered to the homes of families in need. As part of our EPIC values we believe in the importance of helping and supporting our communities and the non-for-profit organisations in their mission to do good. The team at St Kilda Mums is reliant on volunteers so that all the wonderful donations they receive can be processed so these items can be sent out.
