Faster Reporting, Smarter AI, and a Better Reports Centre Experience
Jet Reports continues to evolve and the 26.1 release delivers a strong set of enhancements designed to help finance and reporting teams get insights faster, build reports more easily, and work more efficiently with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
From a revamped Reports Centre experience to smarter AI-powered reporting and major performance improvements, here’s what’s new in Jet Reports 26.1.
Reports Centre: Get Value Faster Than Ever
One of the standout improvements in Jet Reports 26.1 is the enhanced Reports Centre, now designed to eliminate the “blank page” experience.
New Report Library
When setting up a new connection, users can now choose to include a Report Library with 10 prebuilt sample reports. These reports automatically populate using live ERP data, giving users:
- Immediate, working examples
- A faster learning curve
- A strong foundation to customise reports for their organisation
The sample reports are added to the public workspace and are ready to run straight away. Perfect for new users or teams looking to accelerate report adoption.
Upload and Share Reports More Easily
Jet Reports 26.1 also makes it easier to manage and distribute reports:
- Multi-report uploading allows users to upload several reports at once or import a ZIP file. Ideal for migrations or bulk updates.
- Save reports as PDF directly from Reports Centre, making it simple to share read-only reports with stakeholders or archive results for compliance and reporting purposes.
These enhancements reduce admin effort and streamline collaboration.
Excel Online Add-in: GL Reporting in the Browser
For teams working more in the cloud, Jet Reports has expanded functionality in the Excel Online add-in.
The GL function is now supported, enabling users to:
- Pull general ledger balances and transactions.
- Design financial reports directly in Excel Online.
- Work entirely in the browser without switching to desktop Excel.
This brings critical financial reporting capability to cloud-first workflows.
Smarter AI with Lineos Report Assist
Jet Reports continues to invest in AI-powered reporting, and the Lineos AI Report Assist has become even more powerful in version 26.1.
Enhanced grouping capabilities now allow Report Assist to understand and apply aggregate functions, including:
- Sum
- Average
- Minimum and maximum
- Count
Users can ask more advanced questions like grouping sales by region and city while calculating totals or averages, making it easier to generate insight-rich reports using natural language.
Performance Improvements for Business Central
Behind the scenes, Jet Reports 26.1 delivers meaningful performance gains for Business Central.
With HTTP connection pooling now in place:
- API calls are batched more efficiently
- Large, complex reports run faster
- Load on Business Central web services is significantly reduced.
In internal testing, reports that previously required around 100,000 API calls were reduced to approximately 10,000, delivering noticeable speed improvements.
Jet Reports 26.1 will improve efficiency for experienced report writers while delivering tangible performance improvements for Business Central customers.
