EBS was proud to support not for profit customer VACCHO and the Melbourne City Mission’s Sleep at the G on Thursday 4 May.
The Melbourne City Mission’s Sleep at the G raises awareness and vital funds for improving support for young people impacted by homelessness. This year they raised over $450,000.
The Melbourne City mission supports over 5,000 people a week. Homelessness is one of the worst forms of social disadvantage.Violence, abuse and the experience of trauma are major drivers into homelessness for young people. Over half of those experiencing homelessness miss out on regular schooling. Without support of organisations like Melbourne City Mission, a young person can remain trapped in the cycle of poverty and lose all hope of reaching their full potential.
EBS sponsored VACCHO, Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation Inc., whose team slept out at the MCG to raise vital funds to support Melbourne City Mission’s work.
