Today we are looking at a helpful module in the ebs-plus suite: Purchase Budget Tracking. This powerful module allows for real-time visibility of available budgets during Purchase Quote/Order entry.
By taking into account Actuals and Commitments for a GL Account and Dimensions combination, it ensures that your purchases stay within budget. If a purchase quote/order exceeds the available budget, users can enter a comment, and the order will be automatically escalated to the next level in the approval chain. All options are configurable in the setup.
In the setup area, you can choose up to 2 dimensions for the check and select Monthly, Quarterly, or Annual figures.
On entry of a purchase quote, the amounts will appear in the fact box pane on the right side of the screen, after the user selected the GL Account and dimension on the lines of the order.
In this example, a purchase quote exceeds the available budget. A reason is captured in the comments and the order is flagged to be escalated to the next level in the approval chain, as per the message below.
